Pantasy Toy Store (85031): A Celebration Done Right
Pantasy Toy Store (85031)
A Celebration Done Right
Most anniversary models exist to celebrate a milestone.
The problem is that many of them end up feeling more like a company congratulating itself than a genuine celebration of the journey that got them there. The Toy Store could easily have fallen into that trap. After all, this is essentially Pantasy celebrating Pantasy.
The entire building is packed with miniature versions of some of their most recognisable releases, and on paper that sounds like it should feel self-indulgent. Instead, it feels surprisingly heartfelt.
What struck me throughout the build wasn't how much Pantasy were celebrating themselves, but how much they seemed to be celebrating the fans who had been there along the way. Every shelf, every display and every miniature recreation feels less like a product catalogue and more like a collection of memories. And for me, that's what makes this model so special.
Because beneath the toy store façade, this isn't really a toy shop at all. It's a celebration of Pantasy's history- their journey. A thank-you letter to the people who helped build it. And for me, it became one of the easiest high scores I've given all year.

The Moment The Concept Clicks
The moment you start exploring the main store, the entire concept clicks into place.
Everywhere you look there are miniature versions of Pantasy's most recognisable sets. The Little Prince. The Little Prince Castle. Astro Boy. Moomin House. The Nautilus. The Cuckoo Clock. The Capsule Machines and countless others all make appearances throughout the store. What impressed me most wasn't simply that they included them. It was how good they looked.
Many of these models have been reduced to a tiny fraction of their original size, yet somehow remain instantly recognisable. I found myself constantly stopping to look more closely at displays I'd already passed because another familiar model would suddenly catch my eye.
Some made me laugh simply because of how tiny they were. Others made me stop and take a closer look because I recognised them immediately.
What's interesting is that I actually came to Pantasy fairly late. I never got the opportunity to build Astro Boy, The Nautilus or many of the other classic releases represented throughout the store. And yet I still found myself feeling strangely nostalgic. Not because I was remembering builds I'd completed years ago. But because these models represent such an important part of Pantasy's history.
Seeing them all gathered together in miniature form made me appreciate just how much the brand has produced over the years and, if I'm honest, it also left me wishing I'd discovered them sooner.
There were several moments where I'd spot another tiny recreation and immediately think, "I wish I'd had the chance to build the original."
Hopefully one day I will *hint hint to Team Pantasy* lol.
That feeling is ultimately what makes the Toy Store so successful. It isn't simply displaying Pantasy's history. It's celebrating it.
And it does so in a way that feels warm, genuine and surprisingly personal. As much as I enjoyed the rest of the building, the ground-floor toy store is unquestionably the highlight of the entire model. This is where everything comes together.
The miniature displays aren't just decoration. They're the heart of the entire concept. Every shelf feels carefully curated, every display feels intentional and every reference feels like it was included by somebody who genuinely cares about the history of the brand.
That's what separates this from a generic retail modular.
It doesn't feel like a toy shop. It feels like Pantasy's toy shop. A place where the company's history, characters and most beloved models are all brought together under one roof. The more time I spent looking around the finished store, the more I appreciated what Pantasy were trying to achieve. And the more impressed I became by how successfully they pulled it off.
Architecture Worth Celebrating
The wonderful thing about the Toy Store is that even without the nostalgia factor, it would still be one of Pantasy's strongest modular buildings.
The architecture is beautiful.
The castle-inspired design immediately gives the building a sense of occasion, while the tower, decorative detailing and layered roofline create one of the strongest silhouettes in Pantasy's entire modular collection.
It feels special from the moment you place the final pieces.
Not just another shop. Not just another building. A centrepiece.
The interior design is equally impressive. Every floor feels distinct, every room serves a purpose and the overall flow of the building encourages exploration. There's always another detail to discover, another reference to spot or another reason to take a closer look.
It's the kind of model that looks fantastic from across the room but becomes even better the closer you get to it.
Why This One Connected With Me
One of the things I've always appreciated about Pantasy is that their best models have personality.
They don't simply look good. They feel like they were designed by people who genuinely care about the subject matter.
The Toy Store might be the clearest example of that philosophy I've seen from them so far.
The more I built, the more obvious it became that this wasn't simply another modular release.
This was Pantasy looking back at the themes, characters and models that helped shape the company and finding a way to celebrate them without becoming self-indulgent.
That balance is incredibly difficult to achieve. Yet somehow they manage it.
What could have been a vanity project ends up feeling warm, genuine and surprisingly emotional. And that's probably why this model connected with me as strongly as it did.
Score – 9/10
The Toy Store isn't just my favourite Pantasy modular.
It's my favourite build of the year so far.
Biggest Strengths
- Beautiful castle-inspired architecture
- Outstanding display presence
- Incredible collection of miniature Pantasy models
- Genuine nostalgic value for long-time fans and newer fans alike
- Excellent interior design
- Packed with personality and charm
- Celebrates Pantasy's history in a meaningful and heartfelt way
Main Weakness
- Many of the references and callbacks will naturally mean more to long-time Pantasy fans than newcomers.
That's a very small criticism. Because even if you've never built a Pantasy set before, this is still a fantastic modular building.
If you've followed Pantasy for years, however, the experience becomes something even more meaningful.
The Toy Store succeeds because it manages to celebrate the brand without ever feeling self-indulgent. That's a difficult balance to achieve, yet Pantasy pull it off beautifully.
The result is one of the most charming modular buildings they've ever produced and, for me, the easiest recommendation in their entire range.
Final Thoughts
The Toy Store succeeds because it understands what an anniversary-style model should be. Not a showcase of new technology. Not a collection of gimmicks.
A celebration.
Every miniature model, every callback and every nostalgic reference helps tell the story of Pantasy's journey as a company. More importantly, it never feels like Pantasy celebrating themselves for the sake of it. It feels like they're celebrating the community that grew alongside them.
That's a subtle difference. But it's the difference that makes this model work.
Beautiful to look at.
Wonderful to build.
Packed with charm.
And filled with reminders of why so many people became Pantasy fans in the first place. I came to Pantasy late, which means many of the sets celebrated here passed me by the first time around. Ironically, that's exactly what makes the Toy Store so special. It doesn't just celebrate where Pantasy has been. It makes me excited about discovering everything I missed along the way.
Availability & Prime Day Promotion
If you're considering adding the Toy Store to your collection, it's worth noting that Pantasy have included the set in their upcoming Prime Day promotion.
The Toy Store (85031) will be available at 41% off during the promotion period running from June 23rd to June 26th.
Having now built the set myself, I can honestly say it's one of my favourite Pantasy releases to date and easily my favourite build of the year so far.
Finally, a sincere thank you to Pantasy for providing the Toy Store for review.
As always, receiving a review sample does not influence my opinions, scores or final conclusions. All thoughts expressed throughout this review are entirely my own.
