Falagil Hardware Store - An unapologetically detailed modular with real character and confidence
Youmko Falagil 20010 Hardware Store – Fixer Upper House
An unapologetically detailed modular with real character and confidence
Every now and then a modular comes along that doesn’t try to impress you just by being big. Instead, it leans hard into detail, atmosphere, and smart ideas — and that’s exactly what this set does.
The Youmko Falagil 20010 Hardware Store – Fixer Upper House feels confident from the very first bag. It knows what it wants to be, commits fully to the theme, and never feels like it’s padding things out just to hit a part count.
First Impressions
Straight away, the fixer-upper vibe lands. The building feels old, worked on, modified over time — like it has history. Add in the flooding theme and weathered signage, and you immediately get a sense of place. This isn’t a clean, idealised modular — it’s gritty, characterful, and interesting.
Before I was even halfway through the build, it was obvious this was going to be something special.
The Build Experience
The build itself is smooth and enjoyable.
Instructions are clean and easy to follow, with a logical progression that never gets confusing. Everything flows nicely, and you’re rarely left wondering what goes where. It’s the kind of build where you can just relax and enjoy the process.
There were a few clutch-less bricks, which surprised me only because I’ve never really noticed that in any Youmko build before. None of them were critical, nothing affected the structure, and I worked around them easily — but it’s worth mentioning. Thankfully, it didn’t take away from the experience.
And as always, the bag of spare parts is genuinely appreciated.
Interior Detail – Floor by Floor
Basement – Hardware Store
Let’s just get this out of the way:
The basement level is simply superb.
Like… fucking amazing. This is easily one of the best basement interiors I’ve built in a modular. It’s packed with detail, but not in a messy or random way. Everything feels purposeful and deliberate — shelves, tools, stock, clutter that actually makes sense. It feels like a real working hardware store that’s been there for years. I found myself stopping repeatedly just to look at what I’d already built, which is always a good sign. For detail alone, this level is top-tier.
Upper Floors - That attention to detail continues upstairs. Every floor feels complete, lived-in, and thoughtfully arranged. Nothing feels copy-pasted or rushed. A particularly nice touch is the alternative versions of the top floor. It adds flexibility and replay value, letting you tweak the final look without needing extra parts. Small feature — big payoff.
Exterior Design & Theme - The exterior is just as strong as the interior. The signage is excellent — layered, visually interesting, and full of character. It instantly sells the building from street level and makes it stand out in a modular lineup. The flooding theme is a really smart idea. It adds narrative and visual interest without being gimmicky, and the fact that the flood elements are removable makes it even better. You can display it clean or mid-flood depending on your mood — both look great.
Printed Elements & Stickers
Printed elements are everywhere, and they’re all clean, sharp, and perfectly printed. No alignment issues, no fading — just solid quality across the board.
Stickers are included for graffiti, and this is handled really well. You’re given guidance, but not forced placement. You can put them wherever you feel works best, which adds a creative, personal aspect to the build. I haven’t decided where mine are going yet — when I do, I’ll upload pics — but I love having that freedom.
Minifigures
The minifigs are fine.
They’re perfectly acceptable and suit the build, but they’re not a highlight. Nothing bad — just nothing especially memorable either.
Negatives (Minor)
A few clutch-less bricks (rare and non-critical). Minifigs are serviceable but unremarkable. That’s really it.
Ratings & Final Score
Detail: 9/10 For detail alone, this set is outstanding. The basement hardware store in particular is genuinely exceptional.
Theme & Ideas: 8/10 I really like the theme. The fixer-upper concept, flooding idea, removable water, graffiti options, and alternative top floor all work together nicely without feeling forced.
Build & Execution: 8/10 Clean instructions, excellent prints, and a smooth build overall. A few minor part issues stop it from going higher.
Overall Score: 8/10
Final Thoughts
For detail alone, this could easily sit at a 9 out of 10. But taking everything into account, this lands comfortably at an 8 overall — and that’s still a strong recommendation.
It’s a confident, character-driven modular packed with excellent ideas and standout interiors. If you love builds that feel dense, lived-in, and thoughtfully designed, this one is absolutely worth your time — and that basement alone is worth the price of admission.
