BlueBrixx Peanuts Advent Calendar Review

BlueBrixx Peanuts Advent Calendar Review

Slow builds, small bricks, and shared moments

Overview & First Impressions

This was one of those sets that immediately felt like it was about more than just the builds. From the moment we opened the box, I knew this wasn’t going to be something rushed through in a few evenings. The whole point of this calendar is to slow things down — and that’s exactly what we ended up doing.

What really sold it for me early on was building it with my kids. Instead of being a solo build at the table, it became something we shared, one section at a time. That alone gave this set far more value than I expected going in.

And if I’m being honest, a big part of the appeal here is simply Peanuts. I love Peanuts. Snoopy, Woodstock, the whole world — it already had a head start with me.

Build Experience

Let’s be clear: these are microbricks (diamond blocks) and they are tiny. Combine that with my not-exactly-delicate fingers and this was never going to be a quick build.

Each section took us around two hours per build. Not because they’re overly complex, but because microbricks demand patience. Add kids into the mix and that time becomes part of the experience rather than a problem. You simply can’t rush these.

There was definitely an adjustment period. I hadn’t fully considered how long it would take my kids to adapt to the smaller pieces, and that took at least one full build before things really clicked. Once it did, something great happened — they started building independently, which was brilliant to see.

The instructions also require more attention than standard-size blocks. You have to slow down, double-check steps, and take your time. If you do that, the experience is genuinely rewarding. If you rush it, you’ll only frustrate yourself.

Design, Charm & Durability

The Peanuts theme works beautifully at this scale. Snoopy, Woodstock, and the winter scenes translate surprisingly well into microbrick form. Each little build feels distinct, and together they make a genuinely charming collection.

What genuinely surprised me was just how sturdy these builds are once finished. Despite the tiny pieces, they hold together incredibly well. We’ve hung them on the Christmas tree, and they’ve survived everything from cat batting to the occasional dog grab without falling apart.

That real-world durability adds a lot of confidence to the finished models and makes them feel like something you can actually enjoy, not just carefully admire from a distance.

Pace, Shipping & Buying Advice

This calendar isn’t about instant gratification. It’s about time — taking it, sharing it, and enjoying the process.

Shipping took around 13 days, which is fine, but it does mean you need to plan ahead. If you’re thinking about this as an Advent calendar, I’d strongly recommend ordering in November. I ordered late, second-guessed myself, and missed out on some of the more traditional calendars.

I’m still annoyed that I missed the lighthouse one — that looked amazing and sold out fast. Lesson learned.

Because I ordered late, we’re now playing catch-up. We’ve still got a way to go, but hopefully we’ll be fully caught up by Christmas.

Final Thoughts

If I’m being completely honest, this is a 10 out of 10 for me personally, simply because I love Peanuts. Nostalgia absolutely plays a part here, and I’m happy to admit that.

Objectively though, I’d give this a solid 8 out of 10. The only real reason it’s not higher is that I underestimated the adjustment time needed for kids with microbricks. That took at least one full build to get past. Once we did, everything clicked — and now they’re building independently, which is great to see.

What really stands out — and feels worth saying clearly — is that the overall quality feels amazing. The finished builds are sturdy, the designs hold together beautifully, and the whole experience feels far more premium than you might expect. That’s especially impressive given how accessible the price point is.

I’m genuinely really happy with this one. It delivered more than I expected — not just in terms of the builds themselves, but in the shared time and experience around the table. And for me, that’s the real win.

This is not a sponsored or free product review. I purchased this set myself and took a risk on BlueBrixx who have not disappointed. I will be back for more.
