Pantasy® Microscope 85034 — A Brilliant Build for World Science Day

UPDATE:
Since writing this review, the Telescope has been proudly on display in my office — or at least it was! My youngest discovered it and has now claimed it for his room. It seems the Telescope has broad appeal — not just for adults, but for kids too! I figured that deserved an update 🙂

Pantasy celebrate science in style! To mark World Science Day for Peace and Development, Pantasy sent me their latest release — the Microscope 85034 — and it’s another hit. A beautiful, clever build that proves curiosity really can be constructed, one brick at a time.

Pantasy® Microscope 85034 — A Brilliant Build for World Science Day

Pantasy just keep getting better and better.

To mark World Science Day for Peace and Development, Pantasy kindly sent me this gorgeous Microscope (85034) set — and what a fitting build it is to celebrate a day dedicated to knowledge, progress, and the shared pursuit of understanding.

This isn’t just another brick model. It’s a tribute to the quiet power of science — and the curiosity that drives humanity forward.

The Build

At $79.99, the value here is exceptional. From the moment you open the box, you can see and feel Pantasy’s growing commitment to premium design. The parts are beautifully organized, the instructions clear and thoughtfully paced, and every step of the build feels deliberate.

Pantasy have highlighted their use of pad printing here — and it really shows. The printed elements are crisp, vibrant, and perfectly aligned, adding just the right amount of visual depth without overdoing it. No stickers, no stress — just beautiful, enduring detail.

The use of GoBricks is another standout. The clutch power is spot-on: firm yet smooth, giving the whole build a precise, premium feel. The texture of the pieces has that subtle satin finish that instantly reads as quality. Together, these touches make the build experience feel polished and deeply satisfying.

The mix of black, silver, and brass tones gives the microscope a lovely vintage laboratory aesthetic, and the small details — the focusing arms, the slide under the lens, the sculpted base — make it feel almost real.

And let’s talk about the accessories — those tiny medical-style jars, the pipette, and the test tube setup. It’s such a smart addition. A bit of “mad scientist” flair, but refined. I just wish the stem of the test tube had been a little clearer — but that’s honestly such a minor thing in an otherwise beautifully considered design.

Display and Design

Once assembled, the Pantasy Microscope is an absolute showpiece. Elegant, balanced, and commanding without being oversized or garish. Whether on a desk, a shelf, or a science-themed nook, it looks fantastic.

It’s the kind of model that makes you stop for a moment. It’s thoughtful, purposeful, and genuinely feels like a celebration of learning and curiosity.

And yes, I’ll say it — I preferred this 100% over the LEGO STEM build released earlier this year. That one felt clinical; this one feels crafted. It has heart. It feels like something made by people who love what they do.

Pantasy’s Craftsmanship

Just as with the Sherlock Holmes Baker Street and Opera House builds, Pantasy’s craftsmanship shines through. They’re still storytelling in brick form — Baker Street had mystery, Opera House had drama, and the Microscope has discovery.

Pantasy’s decision to keep pushing quality through pad printing, GoBricks, and refined colour palettes shows just how much thought goes into each release. The result? Builds that not only look impressive but feel premium from the moment you open the box.

Scores & Final Thoughts

Design — 9/10
Always high. You can tell Pantasy’s designers spend time refining every curve and surface into something you’d actually be proud to display. It’s beautiful, balanced, and intelligent.

Build Experience — 8.5/10
Smooth, satisfying, and full of small “aha!” moments. The instructions are clear, and each stage feels rewarding. A few tricky connections keep it interesting without tipping into frustration.

Quality — 8/10 (was going to say 9, honestly)
Just great quality throughout. From the box design to the rich colours of the bricks, from the clutch feel to the perfectly sharp printing — quality is always there, and somehow still the last thing on your mind because it just works.

Model — 8/10
Actually amazing. Sturdy, elegant, and pretty much looks like a real microscope. Those extra medicine-lab details really make it come alive.

Thank you, Pantasy for your continued pursuit of excellence.

As part of this special World Science Day for Peace and Development collaboration, this set couldn’t be more appropriate. It’s a small, tangible celebration of the idea that knowledge — like peace — is built, piece by piece.

Pantasy have once again delivered a model that’s as meaningful as it is beautiful. The Microscope 85034 isn’t just a build — it’s a statement piece, a celebration of knowledge and craftsmanship in perfect harmony.

Pantasy just keep getting better and better.

It’s impossible to ignore how rapidly LEGO prices have been rising in recent years. For many fans, especially younger builders or those on tighter budgets, the hobby is becoming harder to afford. That’s disheartening, because creativity should never feel like a luxury.

Pantasy, however, represent a genuine alternative — better value without compromise. Their sets continue to impress not just because of their price point, but because of their heart, design intelligence, and ever-improving quality.

With every new release, Pantasy seem to grow more confident, more refined, and more ambitious. I truly hope they can maintain this path — because what they’re offering isn’t just affordable building, it’s accessible creativity.

Really love what this company offers. It’s genuine, it’s superb, and it’s exactly the kind of craftsmanship the brick world needs right now.
