Pantasy Craft Brewery 85023: A Review of Craft, Chrome & Clever Design

A Review of Craft, Chrome & Clever Design

Overview & Specs

Set Number: 85023 (Pantasy Craft Brewery)
Piece Count: Just under 1,900 pieces.
Dimensions: Mid-scale display model with a full brewing apparatus and architectural framing.
Price Point: A classic Pantasy value-tier set at $149.99, offering far more design and printing quality than similarly sized sets from LEGO or other brands.

Build & Brick Quality

This was, simply put, a lovely build. Every stage felt intentional, with parts layering in ways that make structural and aesthetic sense. Pantasy’s clutch power continues to impress — tight, sturdy, and premium-feeling. I will say it again ... the low cost, in comparison to competitors, does not translate to quality.

The instructions were crisp and easy to follow.

And the best part: no real stickers.
There are two parts with protective film, but you don’t even need to peel them. Everything that matters is printed, and the printing is beautiful — saturated colours, perfect alignment, and Pantasy’s signature clarity.

The chrome is fantastic. Rich, reflective, and tastefully used to elevate the brewing machinery. Pantasy always handles chrome well, but here it’s genuinely eye-catching.

Build Experience

This is one of those builds where function and beauty complement each other beautifully.

The central brewing mechanism is the soul of the model — engineered, framed, and showcased in a way that feels almost theatrical. It’s a simple mechanism — not overly complicated — but it’s done exceptionally well. Clean motion, satisfying interaction, and zero frustration. Pantasy knew exactly how far to take the functionality without bloating it.

The surrounding architecture brings everything together with warm detailing and industrial character. Pantasy has a knack for making small models feel meaningful, and this brewery slots perfectly into any city layout. It fills a gap — a charming, purposeful little industry build that most manufacturers never bother to offer.

It’s a beautiful build from start to finish.

Minifigs (A Personal Note)

Pantasy includes three of their minifigs with this set — nicely designed, well-printed, and absolutely fine for the builders who enjoy them.

As for me?
I just don’t like any of the alt market minifigs.
I never have.

They’re not why I build, and I always set them aside. But I know these have their fans, and Pantasy has clearly put real effort into them. If you enjoy figs, you’ll appreciate the trio included here. If you don’t, they won’t get in the way.

Design & Display Appeal

The design is clean, clever, and extremely display-friendly. The proportions are strong, the mechanism is beautifully showcased, and the blend of chrome, colour, and printed elements creates a model that feels premium well beyond its price.

It works as a standalone piece, but it also fits seamlessly into a city layout — one of those “missing industries” that makes a town feel alive. It’s compact, characterful, and fun to examine up close.

Pantasy understands how to build small models with intention, and this is another example of that skill.

Value & Final Thoughts

Pantasy continues to excel in the space between affordability and artistry.
The Craft Brewery feels like a set designed with heart — beautifully printed, mechanically satisfying, and full of display charm.

It fills a niche that LEGO never touches, and it does so with confidence and quality. For its price, it’s almost absurd how much personality and engineering value you get.

This is Pantasy doing what Pantasy does best.

Rating Summary

Build Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Brick Quality ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Design & Details ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
Display Value ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Overall: 9/10
Again. Part of me always scores up these builds because they are affordable and value for money. But these sets, as a market leader, always have excellent design and heart.

Verdict

The Pantasy Craft Brewery 85023 is a charming, cleverly engineered display model that blends premium printing, beautiful chrome, and a simple-but-brilliant mechanism into a compact footprint. It integrates effortlessly into any city and adds character wherever you place it.

It’s another example of why Pantasy remains my go-to brand: well-designed, affordable, thoughtful, and always interesting.

And yes — Pantasy are still one of my favourites.
